A proven arts in education model, A Page at a Time (PAT), is a eight year old, crossdisciplinary
partnership designed by The Wolfsonian and Miami-Dade County Public
Schools for elementary school youth that focuses on social and political themes
represented by objects in the museum’s collection. PAT is a teaching and learning
research-based model that provides teachers with visual literacy methodology for
empowering students to learn how to “read” and deconstruct (take apart) the visual
images, messages, and symbols that increasingly populate their everyday lives.
