FSU - PILOT ACADEMIC CONSORTIUM FOR TECHNOLOGY (PACT) PROGRAM [download full report]
In 2000-2001, Florida State University, Office of Distributed and Distance Learning
(ODDL), in partnership with the Jesse Ball DuPont Foundation, conducted a pilot project
called as the Pilot Academic Consortium for Technology (PACT). There are three pilot
sites: the Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida; St. Mary's Hall in San Antonio, Texas,
and the Porter-Gaud School in Charleston, South Carolina.
The long-term objective of PACT is to develop an interactive teacher-training program
centered on curriculum development -- not just technology acquisition. Through its
distance learning initiatives, FSU has developed a model of technology integration that
combines new technology, primarily via the Internet, with curriculum development for
more effective teaching and learning.

(CIRL): Educational Outreach at the National High Magnetic - Five-Year Strategic Plan [download full report]
The goal of this report was to produce a series of data-based documents that would serve
to help the Center for Integrated Research and Learning (CIRL ) move forward with a
strong understanding of its past successes and with a strategic blueprint for the future.
These papers can also be used to disseminate and promote its programs and vision.
The mission and goal-setting process culminated with a retreat attended by CIRL and
National High Magnetic Field Laboratory staff. The product of the retreat is a Five-Year Strategic Plan that includes: mission, new goals and activities, and strategies for achieving those goals.

The Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science - Science Exploration Project [download full report]
The Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science (MOAS) resulted from a merger between
the Museum of Art/Tallahassee and the Odyssey Science Center. The mission of the
Museum is a blend of the two former missions with complementary focuses on the visual
arts, sciences, mathematics, and technology.
The Science Exploration Project was funded by the Florida Department of Education to
expand science knowledge to nine nearby counties (Leon, Wakulla, Jefferson, Gadsden,
Liberty, Franklin, Madison, Taylor, and Calhoun). The project has two distinct curricula
targeted to third and fourth grade students, and they were presented at the Museum. The
many exhibits in the Museum relating to science, creativity, and technology supported the
classes and the concepts introduced through the classes.

The World War II (WWII) Curriculum Resource Project was designed to provide high school
students and their teachers with supplementary resource materials that address the major
events, trends, and historic figures of WWII. While encompassing European/African and
South Pacific/Asian conflicts, the main focus is the role of the United States in vast
conflicts, and in particular, Florida’s role in the war. The goal of the project is for teachers
and students to have access to resources that help them teach and learn more about WWII
which in turn, will lead to the pursuit of further studies and research.
